Merlin Industries International Ltd provided a ‘mood lighting’ solution to showcase exposed stonework.
The client required a subtle solution to illuminating an exposed area of stonework in a renovated cottage. Due to the low ceilings and need for a low visual impact, ceiling mounted down-lighters were selected. White units were used to blend in with the existing white ceilings. 12V 50 watt halogen lamps were chosen to give a crisp white light and electronic dimmable transformers were chosen to allow the use of a dimmer on the main lighting circuit. By using “eyeball” fittings the illumination pattern could be altered by the customer to obtain the best possible lighting pattern on the exposed stonework. The pictures show the different moods created by using full or partial settings.
